On March 23, 2023 the non-profit organization Dakota County Heroes was recognized for their donation of $3099 towards the purchase of a ballistic vest for K9 Moose. The Apple Valley Community Crime Prevention was able to contribute $1000 towards the vest purchase as well.

AUGUST 20, 2022


On August 20, 2022 the Apple Valley Crime Prevention Association accepted a check from Red’s Chop Shop in the amount of $10,000 to facilitate the purchase of Apple Valley’s new K9 officer Moose. Red’s Chop Shop ran a fundraising campaign dubbed Operation Chopper throughout the year to accept donations. Red also contributed $5 for ever haircut that came in on Tuesday’s which was dubbed Back the Blue Tuesdays. Funding also went towards the training of K9 Moose and his handler Officer Witkowski.



The Apple Valley Community Crime Prevention Association has helped facilitate the police department’s Shop With A Cop program the last two years. The program assists families in need during the holiday season. In 2021 the AVCCPA made a $3000 donation to the program which helped make the holidays brighter for several families. In 2022 the AVCCPA applied for grants through Walmart and Target and was awarded $5500 to support Shop With A Cop.
